Baz Skinner introduces herself below. One of her first projects is YouthTrek 2024 in Lethbridge from October 4-6, 2024. Contact info: BSkinner@united-church.ca

Baz Skinner, Youth Animator, South Alberta Chinook Winds Region

Oki/Tan’si! I’m Baz, a proud Indigenous, Master of Divinity student at St. Andrew’s College, SK, joining the team from Blackfoot territory (Lethbridge, AB.)
The other job that keeps me hustlin’ is working backstage in theatre and production managing large-scale events—currently supervising the student staff in the University of Lethbridge’s Faculty of Fine Arts (Piiksinaasin) Theatre Department. I look forward to coming home every day to my awesome fiancé, Sheri, and our four kids, three cats and a dog. Before coming on board as an animator I worked for 16 years for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, followed by several years at Katimavik—Canada’s leading youth volunteer program, and a few years doing contract work training summer camp staff. To have my worlds of theology, youth work, and family all merge into one in this position is an answered prayer.
Maarsi (thank you) for the warm welcome, already! I look forward to supporting the youth in my area in their spiritual journeys! Woo hoo!
