Wednesday, September 18:  An In-Depth Guide to Navigating the Termination Process

Our first workshop will address the complexities involved in concluding the employee-employer relationship. We will explore the distinctions between working with lay employees and clergy and review relevant guidelines from the Labour Code and The United Church Manual. This workshop has been thoughtfully developed to guide you through this critical topic.

Register HERE for the September 18 workshop and/or all three fall M&P workshops.

Wednesday, October 16: Exploring the correct ways to conduct exit interviews

This second M&P workshop will focus on conducting effective exit interviews that benefit all parties involved. Exit interviews help both parties learn more about themselves and what they can do differently in their next employment relationship. They are a valuable tool for employers to gain insights into the reasons behind an employee’s departure, offering opportunities for candid feedback. Exit interviews not only help in understanding the dynamics of the current employment relationship but also provide critical information to shape future hiring and retention strategies. Wednesday, November 20:  Examine the new Cost of Living adjustments for 2025 and the updated Standards for Clergy Continuing Education.

As part of our fall Ministry & Personnel Committee series, this third workshop will focus on two key areas. First, we will address the new Cost of Living (COL) adjustments for 2025, which are anticipated to be published by this time. Second, we will examine the updated Standards for Continuing Education for Clergy. We will review this new document and discuss how it will impact your efforts to support the ongoing professional development of ministry personnel. Register HERE
