Jes Beckerley joins Chinook Winds Region’s staff as part-time Administrative Assistant effective June 1, 2021
Ever since Jes was a kid, she has been involved in the United Church and was often seen running down the aisles, hiding under the pews or dancing to her favourite church hymn. She appreciates the United Church’s commitment to justice, diversity, and its theological ability to create an environment of open hearts and open doors.
During her childhood, Jes spent the majority of summers at Naramata Centre or at a United Church Camp. She developed leadership experience on summer staff at Naramata Centre, on its Board and with her involvement with Kairos and Rendez-Vous. In addition, Jes has worked on staff at numerous United Churches in a variety of different roles. She is passionate about creating learning and sharing spaces within communities and gets excited to link biblical stories to one’s everyday story. Her educational training includes schooling in social work, child and youth care and psychology.
Jes currently resides on Treaty 7 land in Airdrie with her husband, two children Bronwyn and Milo and Sofie the dog. If Jes isn’t in the office she likes to escape to the mountains for a hike or ski, curled up reading a book, baking bread with the kids, or lost with her camera capturing people’s stories and surveying the next best spot for a sunset picture.
Jes looks forward to meeting you
