New Executive Minister Announced

We are pleased to announce that Treena Duncan has been appointed to be the new Regional Executive Minister for Chinook Winds and Pacific Mountain Regions, starting June 24, 2019. Treena will follow the Rev. Doug Goodwin, long-time Executive Secretary of BC Conference, who had agreed to serve as Regional Minister for the two Regional Councils until the end of June 2019. In addition to her direct accountability to the two Regional Councils, Treena, like all the Regional Executive Ministers, will also work with the General Secretary of The United Church of Canada as part of the Staff Leadership team of the denomination.

A lifelong member of the United Church, Treena began serving as the Conference Personnel Minister for what was BC Conference in 2002 and is currently Director of Human Resources and Leadership Development for Pacific Mountain Region. She has been responsible for enhancing and managing the innovative LeaderShift program which supports Ministry Personnel through programming and coaching. She also led the implementation of the pilot projects for BC Conference in the Candidacy Pathway and Effective Leadership projects, which were foundational in the restructuring currently underway in the United Church. Through her work, Treena has also established valued working relationships with indigenous leadership in the church in British Columbia.

Having lived in and served the church in what is now Pacific Mountain region for many years, Treena is excited about getting to know new colleagues in Chinook Mountain Region and working with them in the further development and operation of their new structures and processes. She will continue to reside in Surrey, BC, but will be present in Chinook Winds Region on a regular basis.
