By Irene Milton, Lay Ministry Support Working Group.
Are you looking for Pulpit Supply? Well, the Lay Ministry Support Working Group is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Licensed Lay Worship Leaders whether they are renewing their licenses ( for 3 years); being licensed for the first time or are currently taking part in the online courses offered through United-In-Learning.
On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, three interview teams were led by members of the Working Group. They were: Team 1-Irene Milton accompanied by Eleanor Tribe and Julia Kimmett; Team 2- Leila Currie accompanied by Barbara Lieurance and Shone Sponholz; and Team 3- Wilma Clark accompanied by Janice Aiken and Elaine Mansfield. The teams met and interviewed 11 people either in person or via Zoom.
There are others who for some reason or another weren’t interviewed or didn’t get the information so if you are such a person, please contact Jes at the Regional Office to make sure she has your current information and schedule you for an interview.
On Wednesday, March 15th the Working Group met again via Zoom and relicensed the following in no particular order: Barb Lough, Rosemary Ingraham, Irene Milton, Roxanne Williams, Kathleen Honeychurch, and Barry Horner.
Newly licensed upon completing the LLWL course were: Trudy Wesley, Glenda Crawler, Hilary Squires, and Karen Pryznyk. Because of a bad Zoom connection, one interview is being rescheduled.
The Licensed Lay Worship Leaders can cover one site for three consecutive Sundays a month, to a maximum of 12 services per year. The rate of remuneration is according to the Minimum Salaries and reimbursements for Visiting Ministry Personnel including travel.
An effort is being made to include these people and their contact information on the list for available Pulpit Supply.
