SUMMARY:New Monastic Saturdays
DESCRIPTION:Join us each month on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Living Spirit Centre for a time of deep silence\, reflection\, and connection as we explore what it means to be a new monastic community. Rooted in compassion and spiritual practice\, these gatherings invite contemporary seekers to nurture a sense of inner stillness and shared journey. All are welcome to come and explore. Led by Liz Rees. \nMade for the Sacred – Saturday\, April 25\, 1:00–4:00 pm \nThis month\, we’ll engage the teachings of theologian Matthew Fox\, who calls us to awaken to the truth that we are “made for the sacred.” Together\, we’ll explore the four paths of Creation Spirituality as a way of deepening into wholeness. The afternoon will include learning\, shared wisdom\, eco-chanting\, and a guided practice of silent Centering Prayer.

DESCRIPTION:Arts on 817’s Season Finale will feature Diana Cohen (violin) and Roman Rabinovich (piano) in Recital on Saturday April 25th at 7:30 pm! Praised for her “incredible flair\, maturity and insight\,” violinist Diana Cohen\, Concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra\, will team up with her husband\, Roman Rabinovich\, a remarkable pianist\, who has performed throughout Europe and the United States in venues such as Wigmore Hall in London\, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre in New York\, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory\, the Cité de la Musique in Paris\, and the Terrace Theatre of Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Together they will perform a program that explores the full range of the human condition\, from its darkest lows to the bliss of romantic love\, and virtuosity will be in full display\, a real treat to end Arts on 817’s Season 8! \nTickets are available at The Vault in Person or Online at thevaultonline.ca/collections/tickets and at smoreuc.com. All Concerts are held at Strathmore United Church.
