Celebrating Authors Ohwang Kwon & Susan Lukey

We’re celebrating! Two Chinook Winds Region Ministry Personnel have recently had books published!

Rev. Dr Ohwang Kwon, minister at Knox United Church, Consort, AB, wrote Jesus and the Marginalized: Jesus Christ for Koreans in The United Church of Canada with co-author Dr. Don Sweitzer of St. Andrew’s College, Saskatoon. You can purchase the book on St. Andrew’s College’s website. Jesus and the Marginalized explores the meaning of Jesus for Koreans in the United Church of Canada, and in the Canadian context. After discussing the marginality that Koreans experience here, it examines how Jesus enables Koreans to withstand this, and live prophetically in their liminal situation.

Rev. Susan Lukey is author of Adventures in Faith and Family, published in September by the UCRD. It can be purchased online or in-person at the High River (AB) United Church, Monday through Friday. Offering practical, intelligent, loving, spirit-filled wisdom rooted in the joy and deep love of the Christian faith as well as developmental psychology, this book includes personal reflections, suggestions for family faith practices, reflections on biblical passages, ideas for family holiday activities, and original music.
