Ash Wednesday Tattoos available for Chinook Winds congregations

Thank you for your tattoo orders. The Bulk Order has been placed and we’ve closed the order form. We should receive the tattoos shortly to mail out to you in advance of Ash Wednesday.

Hi Chinook Winds Colleagues,
I greet you all with virtual hugs and prayers as we begin a new year. I’m sure you, like me, are in full force as you continue to minister to your congregations the best you can in this STILL virtual-only world.

I was talking to a Lutheran Colleague in Ontario recently who told me about Ash Wednesday temporary tattoos that their denomination was ordering to hand out to their congregants. I thought, “What a GREAT idea!”
So, I can’t help but share it with you all. If you’re offering an at-home Ash Wednesday ritual to your congregations, the temporary tattoos offer an alternative to distributing ashes. We all want our Faith Communities to feel connected and engaged in their spiritual journeys despite not being able to meet in-person. I think the tattoos are an awesome way to help us begin the always-reflective Lent season.
And even better, it’s from a Canadian company, School Tattoos.

From the Chinook Winds Office: Working collaboratively with Pacific Mountain Region’s First-Third Network, we are able to arrange for a bulk order of the Ash Wednesday tattoos.
Consequently, we are able to offer them free to communities of faith in Chinook Winds Region who are distributing at-home Ash Wednesday kits. Please order by the end of the day, January 12, 2021 so we can ensure you receive your tattoos in time for your own distribution.
Please note: if you are also ordering the Lent/Easter Faith@Home kits from the First-Third Network, these household kits will already contain the tattoos.
