FUNDING MISSION, MINISTRY, AND LEARNING IN CHINOOK WINDS REGION- A PREVIEW
By Joel Den Haan, Community of Faith Support/ Strategy Consultant, Chinook Winds Region
During the 2019 season, The United Church of Canada provided more than $155,000 to support a range of mission, ministry, and learning initiatives in Chinook Winds Region. With thankfulness for the work and commitment of our dedicated partners in mission here in the Region, we are now looking toward new funding arrangements for 2020. Your Community of Faith Strategy Working Group has been tasked with providing resources and review for these funding initiatives, under the direction of the Chinook Winds Region Executive and Executive Minister.
Here’s what will happen: later in July our Working Group will be finalizing a Program and Funding Proposal document that will be the official tool by which mission, ministry, and learning funds can be requested. This Proposal document draws from proven resources used within our United Church community but will take a different form from the former Mission Support Grant application.
You will be able to access the Program and Funding Proposal document in August, online through website links, as well as by contacting either Chinook Winds Region office or your Community of Faith Support/ Strategy Consultant Rev. Joel Den Haan at email@example.com.
Please complete all aspects of the Program and Funding Proposal document for which you can offer information, and include the last years along with your most recent financial statements. If you have questions about completing the document, please contact Joel Den Haan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Proposals for 2020 funding for Chinook Winds Region mission, ministry, and learning initiatives should be received by Chinook Winds Region Office no later than 30 September 2019. Your Working Group will then generate recommendations for Region Executive approval through the Executive Minister, in the first half of October 2019. 2020 Funding allocations will be approved after 15 October 2019.
This process will be the only pathway to funding for the mission, ministry, and learning initiatives supported by Chinook Winds Region for 2020.
We thank you in advance for your willingness to participate with us in building new ways to support the work of God’s mission here in our Region. On behalf of the Community of Faith Strategy Working Group we’ll look forward to connecting with you later this summer, and to reviewing your Proposals for work in the region during September/ October.
